How the work works

VANDUER is a creative impact agency based in Hamburg, Germany. We help established businesses and inherently sustainable brands navigate the transition to the Next Economy without pretending the current one doesn't exist.
We are a small, senior team with deep expertise in both sustainability methodology and creative craft and work at the intersection of those two things.
Our foundation is Cradle to Cradle thinking – the philosophy behind circular economy. The idea is that waste is a design error, that everything can be conceived as a nutrient for another system, and that sustainability is a design challenge rather than a moral position. We use this not as a philosophical framework but as a practical lens for helping companies see what they've built, what it means, and how to communicate it without compromising it.

Our principles

Substance first
Communication has to be grounded in something real. Before we develop any narrative or strategy, we want to understand what a company has actually built: the processes, the products and the people. That's what makes the difference between communication that holds up and communication that doesn't.
Strategy and story, together
Sustainability strategy and communication are usually treated as separate workstreams. We don't separate them. The thinking and the telling develop in parallel. Because a strategy without a narrative stays invisible, and a narrative without a strategy collapses under scrutiny.
Storytelling drives change
Most people believe that we need transformation. But most communication around change is about sacrifice. Negative. Pointing fingers. Most stories haven't been told in a way that makes the transition feel possible, desirable, and worth being part of. That's the work we care about most. We believe storytelling is one of the most powerful tools for driving societal and environmental change. Not through guilt or obligation, but through campaigns and communication that engage and inspire.
Partnership, not delivery
We work alongside our clients. That means entering the process early, asking the questions nobody else has asked yet, and staying close to the work as it develops. No handovers. No templates. No retrofitting.
Specific, not generic
Every company is at a different point in its transition. Every regulatory context is different. Every audience is different. We work from that specificity.
Let's talk about what you're building. And where you want to take it.
